The designer's thoughts

The brief was to create something that felt similar to a contemporary hotel suite— calm, efficient, and thoughtful.

With the limited space, the layout was kept open, allowing the living and dining areas to flow into one another. This helped maximise the space while keeping it easy to move through.

The material palette was kept restrained, with light timber, soft greys, and warm beiges forming a quiet backdrop. It allowed the space to feel calm and composed without relying on strong contrasts.

We reworked the wardrobes using fluted glass panels and integrated lighting, so they could double as display. It gave the owners a way to showcase their books and personal items without adding additional furniture.

A swivel TV was introduced as a central element, allowing it to pivot between the living and resting areas. It helped define the space while keeping the layout flexible and connected.
