The designer's thoughtsThe owners wanted a home that was grounded and reflective of their laidback lifestyle, so there was a strong focus on natural and sustainable materials like rattan, bamboo, and timber. It created a space that feels relaxed and well-ventilated, with plenty of natural light.
They also wanted a study that could double as a library, and spaces that allowed them to host. With that in mind, we designed the long TV wall to house their favourite artwork, and a dining area that can accommodate large groups.
There was a clear emphasis on open shelving and pigeon holes for books and displays, so they could showcase the items that matter most to them.
What stood out in the final result was the consistency in the use of natural materials throughout the home. Having a dedicated space with ample room for the clients’ collectibles was especially important, and it was thoughtfully integrated into the overall design.
